52 WoCC – Sepia

I gotta admit, I’m not 100% sure of what Sepia is, other than a style of photo. From Luna’s post I gathered it’s a type of brown, so that’s what I went looking for. I decided to do this post by shopping in my own inventory, bringing out old pieces I haven’t used in a while.

I bought this sweater from Maitreya almost two years ago, in all colors, and I think I wore it daily for months after that. It’s been a bit of a staple and I think it still holds is own. I especially like the sleeve extenders on this sweater, making it feel cozy and warm, like a sweater should.

The boots from Kitties Lair was bought around the same time, also in all colors available. I had a thing for fatpacks back then, even if the term “fatpack” wasn’t as widely known as it is now. I still think these boots are fantastic, but I wish for a 2.0 viewer update with the alphas. Someone tell Santa.

The fantastic “bum-hair” introduced to me by Skittles made it’s way in to my <3 list immediately, it’s one of the better made long hairs on the market thanks to it’s two attachment points. It poses well, which other long hairs tend to fail on.

I threw in some newer pieces, my favorite pair of leather pants from Deviance (look at that ass) and the intricate necklace from Mandala made it a pretty nice (hopefully) sepia’ish outfit.

7 Days of Truth – #6

Previous Truths; #1, #2, #3, #4, #5

Truth #6; I’m really bad at math.

In school I’ve always been the person who gets good grades without really trying. It’s made me lazy, I’ll admit. So when something takes a lot of effort, I tend to panic and shut down. Math is one of those things. I’ve never been a friend with math, I’ve struggled with it for as long as I can remember.

Now, unfortunately almost all of the professions I find interesting need a certain amount of math. So it’s become like my Achilles’ Heel. I have this one class that is a must-do on nearly all degrees I’d like to take. I’ve done it twice and failed both times.

It doesn’t help that I live together with someone who’s taken every math course known to man. “This course is so easy, you’re smart, you’ll get it.” Drives me insane! Yes, I am smart, except when it comes to math.

Leave me alone already!

TP to – Rainy Town

On a sim called Creamshop you will find not only a cute store called Creamshop, but also one of the best sim builds I’ve seen to this date. Rainy Town is exactly what it sounds like, a rainy little town. You land in a flooded tunnel where special little creatures awaits you (I’m not going to ruin the surprise, but they’re cute, promise). If you make your way through the tunnel you come out to a little town-square and by the time you get there you’ll be in awe.

Very realistic, very noir-looking is this sim-build that features rain in the most beautiful way possible. The creator seems to have thought of everything, little puddles on the side-walk, rain dropping from the awnings and even a little apartment with rain dribbeling windows. This sim is perfect for taking photographs or just walking around admiring, not to mention the fact that you can shop in it.

TP to Rainy Town.

Also, don’t call me “little girl”

I’ve gotten a lot of feedback on my last post, mostly from plurkers but also some inworld and in the comments. I didn’t realize it would be such a controversial topic and I’ve enjoyed hearing peoples thoughts on it.

There does seem to be a cultural difference between Sweden and America regarding this. My friends inform me that is in fact common to hear these terms from customer reps and the likes in America. The south seems especially good at this, I was informed. In Sweden however, you would be seriously reprimanded, maybe even lose your job if you called a customer “Hun”.

I really do enjoy a good discussion and I’m always ready to hear people out and change my opinion if I feel it needs revising. But then someone comes along that just proves my point. I got IM’d inworld by someone with no profile information what so ever, obviously an alt account.

Alt Person: Just a thought… today you bitched about someone calling you “honey” and how inappropriate and rude it was. Ever stop to think that flipping people off of a community blog and using the F word all the time is a little inappropriate?
Alt Person: Grow up, little girl.

First of all, yes, you’re right, it is rude to flip people off. It was kind of the point. Secondly, “F word all the time” is a bit of an exaggeration, don’t you think? This blog has one (1) count of “F-word” in it, and it’s in the context of “Effing Ace”, meaning positive context. If you’re that sensitive, I’m sorry, but I really can’t help you.

Third and last. Don’t IM me from an alt account and tell me to “grow up” and call me “little girl”. It just makes you look stupid and proves my point.
